These cute little chicken eggs are the perfect things for kids to tote around. They fit perfectly in their little hands and they are so fun to squish! I designed these egg plushies to have a fun Easter feel, but they can also just be made plain to be a chicken egg.
These eggs have already made for a fun game around my house. My four year old saw them on my work table and thought that it would be so fun to hide all the eggs for Mama to find. (There were about 10 of them!) Let’s just say she was really proud of herself and I had an adventure that day!

Options
The plushie has two decorative options for you to choose from. (Or you can just make it plain.) There is a speckled option and a smiley face option. They can also be made in any color you want! Very customizable.

Level
The construction is simple, however you need to know how to work with small pieces, and a small seam allowance on a stretch fabric. I would categorize this sewing pattern for an experienced beginner.
Fabric Types
You can use a wide variety of fabrics for this project. For a soft plushie, use minky, plush, fleece or flannel. If you use anything too bulky it will cause more”dents” around the edges. The same will happen when using fabrics with less stretch. (To help eliminate any denting, stuff the plushie a little less.)
Pro tip: Plush fabric sheds a LOT! keep a lint roller or vacuum on hand.
