These are the easiest earrings you will ever make! Create some adorable earrings and learn a bit about druzy stones along the way.
Are you ready for the easiest jewelry making project ever? These cute faux druzy earrings are so easy, even kids can make them!
A druzy, is what geologists call a fine crystal coating on a stone. Sometimes they’re also called druse or drusy.
According to geologyin.com This is how they are formed.
“The geological process that forms a druzy, the layer of crystals on the rock, occurs when water brings minerals onto a rock’s surface. When the water evaporates, cooling occurs and the minerals are left behind to form crystals on top of the rock.”

The site also says that Quartz is one of the most common druzy types. Pretty interesting right? Druzy is used in jewelry making because of the way the tiny crystals catch the light and give off an almost glittering effect.
So with that fun bit of background on what a druzy stone is, let’s make some cute druzy earrings!

Supplies
- Pack of faux druzy stones and blank bezel setting earrings
- e6000 glue
- Craft foam block (optional for stud drying.)
The best part about the supplies I used (and listed above) is that they faux druzy stones come with the blank bezel setting earrings. It includes both studs and hooks. It’s a great package and means with one purchase you’ll get most of your supplies! Plus that also means the sizes of both the cabochons and the bezel earrings are guaranteed to match, which is a very important thing.
I put a foam block on the supply list because it is a convenient way for the stud earrings to dry without getting moved a bunch. You could alternatively prop them up against something that you know isn’t bumped or touched often. If you choose to get the foam block, you can usually find those at any craft store. Even Walmart has them.

Assembling the Druzy Earrings
If using stud earrings and the craft foam block, go ahead and stick the studs into the foam. This will stabilize them so they don’t roll around and lose the cabochon while drying. (If using hook earrings just continue to the next paragraph.)
Take the E6000 and put a small dollop of the glue in the center of the earring. You’ll want enough to make the faux stone stick, but not so much that it overflows out of the earring.
Place the faux stone inside the earrings bezel setting and push it down into the glue.
Repeat the steps above on a second earring blank to make a set.
Let the glue dry for eight hours or overnight. You’re new earrings are ready to wear!
Additional Thoughts
Like I said, easiest jewelry making project ever! These could be great to take to craft fairs, or use as an activity for a sleepover or girls night.
Another fun thing about making earrings like this is you could also get these cool mermaid dome cabochons or opal inspired dome cabochons for some variety in earring looks. There are plenty of other dome cabochon designs on amazon too! Take a look around and see what you like best. But remember, the size of the dome cabochon MUST match the size of the blank bezel earrings. For example, if I use a 12mm bezel earring, I have to use a 12mm dome cabochon. The same would apply if I used 8mm or 10mm, etc.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and learning a bit about cool rocks! Enjoy you’re new earrings and thank you so much for reading!
