I’m a sucker for glowing things. They have a way of catching my eye and pulling me in. Recently, I made some glow-in-the-dark flowers and wanted to share with you how I did it. You could also use this process with neon paint for a black light party! Here is what I did.

Glow Flower Prep
Cover your work area with a disposable table cloth if you are using one. Old ads or papers could also be used here.
The flowers will need a place to hang while they dry. You can make a clothesline by taking your yarn and stringing it between two points. This could be between two chairs, up on your shower rings, between two lamps, etc. Make sure there is enough space to hang your flowers on it.
Use the wire cutters to trim the flower stems to your desired length.
Painting the Flowers
Pour paint onto the paper plate and spread it out. Using one flower at a time, dip the petals into the paint. Swirl the petals around in the paint until they are well coated. repeat with all flowers that you have chosen.
With the clothes pins, hang the flowers upside down on your clothes line and let them dry overnight. Make sure you have put something under them to catch any paint drips. (I re-used my table cloth for this.)
Clean Up
Dispose of the paper plate and table cloth if you used one. Wipe up any spilled or dripped paint with a damp cloth while the paint is still wet.
That’s all there is to it! Just remember to put them in a spot that will get plenty of light during the day so they’ll glow in the evening!
